Chapter Director

Thomas J. Bozek

I have been active in music ministry as an Organist, Choir Director and Director of Music in the Baltimore area for over 40 years. In September of 2014, I begin my 15th year as Director of Music and Organist at Immaculate Heart of Mary, where I direct the Adult Choir, The Resurrection Choir, Contemporary Music Ensemble, the cantor program of volunteers and professional singers, professional instrumentalists and vocal groups as well as responsibility for the overall music program of the parish which includes a concert series as well as the Liturgical Music Program for the parish school of over 550 students. In addition I chair the Liturgy Committee and am responsible for Liturgical Ministries. In 2008, we were proud to debut the new 33 rank Schantz pipe organ.

I began my ministry at St. Jane Frances de Chantal in Riviera Beach while attending elementary school there. I have also served at St. Stanislaus Church in Baltimore, St. Clement I in Landsowne, St. Alphonsus Rodriguez, Woodstock, and Church of the Annunciation in Rosedale as Organist and Director of Music. I served almost 20 years as assistant organist at St. John the Evangelist in Severna Park. I am also a licensed Funeral Director in the state of Maryland.

I have been a member of NPM for over 20 years currently also a member of the DMMD and a founding member of the Baltimore NPM Chapter. I am a member of the AGO, having served on the Executive Committee and OHS. I am currently the coordinator of the Liturgical Formation and Catechesis Committee for the Worship Commission of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. I have also been the organist for Diocesan Liturgies including the Installation Liturgy for Archbishop Lori. I look forward to continuing to be part of an exciting future for the liturgical musicians and clergy in our Archdiocese enabling us to foster the continued growth of Musical Liturgy together for the benefit of those we serve. I also enjoy cooking, classical music, being a “foodie” and travel. I have been fortunate to have traveled all over the world and have visited countries on 6 continents, always ready for the “next adventure”!

I attended St. Joseph Monastery School, Grades 1 through 8; as was typical at that time, music education was very low priority.
My actual music education began as a walk-on, with no prior singing experience, to the Adult Choir, and the Resurrection Choir, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Abingdon, MD, in 2003.
Since that time, numerous courses, workshops, and similar learning opportunities, presented primarily by NPM Baltimore, including each
year singing with the MAC Choir, have greatly helped me.

Treasurer/Coordinator of Recruitment

Joe Organ

Joe is a Baltimore born resident, spending most of life here with the exception of four years at Minor Seminary. That is where he fell in love with the piano and organ.  Music has been a part of his life since the second grade. He enjoyed mastering the Accordion but filed it away until 2010.  Joe has been involved in Church music since Vatican II. That makes it at least 50 years +.  The last 15 years he has been the Music director at St. Vincent de Paul Church, in downtown Baltimore.
